Step 1Pūjā and Sthāpana

Begin by performing a brief pūjā to invoke the divine presence, then place the food in the pātra, as an offering to the gods before feeding the child.

Step 2Snāna and Ālekhana

BAThe the infant and apply a sacred mark or tilaka on their forehead, symbolizing spiritual growth and divine protection.

Step 3Bhog and Prāśana

Mix the food with ghee and madhu, then feed the infant for the first time, symbolizing the introduction of the child to the world of solids and their dependence on divine providence.

Step 4Guru and Deva Pranāma

Pay respects to the guru, the divine, and the ancestors, acknowledging their role in guiding the child's spiritual journey and seeking their blessings for a healthy and prosperous life.
