Step 1: Vāstu Pūjā
Twilight invocation of Goddess Lakṣmī · Annual festival of lights
Prepare the pūjā area by cleaning and arranging the necessary materials, as a clean and organized space attracts positive energies and invites the Goddess to reside.
Light the dīpa with ghee or oil, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the banishment of darkness, and mark the beginning of the pūjā to invoke Goddess Lakṣmī.
Invoke Goddess Lakṣmī with the recitation of Vedic mantras, such as the Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa mantra, to summon her divine presence and request her blessings.
Offer the prepared sweets, fruits, flowers, and akṣata to Goddess Lakṣmī, expressing gratitude for her blessings and seeking her continued favor and protection in all aspects of life.
Conclude the pūjā by performing the ārati ceremony, waving the dīpa in a circular motion to symbolize the cyclical nature of life, and then bid farewell to the Goddess, thanking her for her presence and blessings.
Distribute the offered sweets and fruits as prasāda, and consider giving dāna to those in need, as an act of kindness and generosity, reflecting the spirit of Goddess Lakṣmī's blessings.
