Step 1: Vāstu Pūjā
Hindu festival of Lord Gaṇeśa · Annual
Prepare the pūjā area by cleaning and purifying it with water and cow dung, to create a sacred space for the ritual.
Invite Lord Gaṇeśa into the home by chanting the Gaṇeśa Gāyatrī mantra and perform abhiṣeka by bathing the murti with water, milk, and other auspicious liquids to purify and nourish the deity.
Offer fruits, flowers, and modaka sweets to Lord Gaṇeśa, as these are considered his favorite offerings and symbolize the nourishment and abundance that he bestows upon devotees.
Recite the Aṣṭottara Śata Nāma, a hymn of 108 names of Gaṇeśa, to invoke his blessings, protection, and wisdom, and to deepen one's connection with the divine.
