Step 1: Vāstu Pūjā
Night of Shiva · Annual celebration on the 14th day of the dark half of Māgha
Begin by taking a vow to perform the Pūjā with a pure heart and mind, resolving to seek spiritual growth and self-realization, thus setting the intention for the ritual.
Perform Abhisheka by pouring water over the Shiva Linga, symbolizing the purification of the soul and the washing away of past sins, rejuvenating the spirit.
Offer Vilva leaves to Lord Shiva, which are believed to be dear to Him, representing the devotion and faith of the practitioner, and expressing gratitude for His blessings.
Chant sacred mantras like the Panchakshari Mantra ('Om Namah Shivaya') and the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, invoking Lord Shiva's divine presence and seeking protection from the cycle of birth and death.
