Step 1 — Śānti Pāṭha
The ritual begins with the Śānti Pāṭha, a peace invocation to calm the atmosphere and invoke divine blessings, setting the tone for a harmonious union.
Step 2 — Ganapati Pūjā
Worship of Lord Ganesha is performed to remove any obstacles and ensure a smooth and joyful marriage ceremony, honoring the remover of barriers.
Step 3 — Saptapadī
The bride and groom take seven steps together around the sacred fire, symbolizing their commitment to walk together in life, each step representing a vow and promise to each other.
Step 4 — Agni Parikrama
The couple circumambulates the fire, paying respects to the element of fire that purifies and witnesses their union, solidifying their bond and seeking blessings.
