तम् आश्रमम् अनुप्राप्तं नैमिषारण्यवासिनः उवाच तान् ऋषीन् सर्वान् धन्यो वो ऽस्म्य् अद्य दर्शनात् वेद वैयासिकीः सर्वाः कथा धर्मार्थसंहिताः वक्ष्यामि वो द्विजश्रेष्ठाः शृण्वन्त्व् अद्य तपोधनाः तस्य तद् वचनं श्रुत्वा नैमिषारण्यवासिनः चित्राः श्रोतुं कथास् तत्र परिवव्रुस् तपस्विनः
tam āśramam anuprāptaṃ naimiṣāraṇyavāsinaḥ uvāca tān ṛṣīn sarvān dhanyo vo 'smy adya darśanāt veda vaiyāsikīḥ sarvāḥ kathā dharmārthasaṃhitāḥ vakṣyāmi vo dvijaśreṣṭhāḥ śṛṇvantv adya tapodhanāḥ tasya tad vacanaṃ śrutvā naimiṣāraṇyavāsinaḥ citrāḥ śrotuṃ kathās tatra parivavrus tapasvinaḥ
“Bowing humbly, Sauti greeted the assembled Brahmarshis, who welcomed him and asked whence he had come and where he had spent his time; accomplished in speech, he answered them fittingly. (trans. K.M. Ganguli)”
