तत्र यद् यद् यथा ज्ञातं मया संजय तच् छृणु श्रुत्वा हि मम वाक्यानि बुद्ध्या युक्तानि तत्त्वतः ततो ज्ञास्यसि मां सौते प्रज्ञाचक्षुषम् इत्य् उत
tatra yad yad yathā jñātaṃ mayā saṃjaya tac chṛṇu śrutvā hi mama vākyāni buddhyā yuktāni tattvataḥ tato jñāsyasi māṃ saute prajñācakṣuṣam ity uta
“Dhritarashtra told Sanjaya that his inclination was never to war, that he made no distinction between his own children and the children of Pandu, and that only through paternal affection did he bear with the thoughtless Duryodhana, who, unable to overcome the Pandavas, concerted an unfair game at dice with the king of Gandhara.
