यदाश्रौषं वासुदेवे प्रयाते; रथस्यैकाम् अग्रतस् तिष्ठमानाम् आर्तां पृथां सान्त्वितां केशवेन; तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय यदाश्रौषं वासुदेवे प्रयाते रथाङ्गहस्ते फाल्गुनेनान्विते ऽपि ग्रहीतुकामं मम पुत्रं द्विपेन तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय
yadāśrauṣaṃ vāsudeve prayāte; rathasyaikām agratas tiṣṭhamānām ārtāṃ pṛthāṃ sāntvitāṃ keśavena; tadā nāśaṃse vijayāya saṃjaya yadāśrauṣaṃ vāsudeve prayāte rathāṅgahaste phālgunenānvite 'pi grahītukāmaṃ mama putraṃ dvipena tadā nāśaṃse vijayāya saṃjaya
“Dhritarashtra recounts to Sanjaya, one by one, the events he heard of - Arjuna's winning of Draupadi, the Rajasuya, the dice game and Draupadi's humiliation, the exile, Arjuna's divine weapons, and all the deeds of the great war - after each of which, he says, he had no hope of success.
