यदाश्रौषं द्रोणपुत्रेण गर्भे; वैराट्या वै पात्यमाने महास्त्रे संजीवयामीति हरेः प्रतिज्ञां तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय द्वैपायनः केशवो द्रोणपुत्रं; परस्परेणाभिशापैः शशाप बुद्ध्वा चाहं बुद्धिहीनो ऽद्य सूत संतप्ये ऽहं पुत्रपौत्रैश् च हीनः संचिन्तयन्न् अद्य विहीनबुद्धिः कर्तव्यतां नाभिजानामि सूत
yadāśrauṣaṃ droṇaputreṇa garbhe; vairāṭyā vai pātyamāne mahāstre saṃjīvayāmīti hareḥ pratijñāṃ tadā nāśaṃse vijayāya saṃjaya dvaipāyanaḥ keśavo droṇaputraṃ; paraspareṇābhiśāpaiḥ śaśāpa buddhvā cāhaṃ buddhihīno 'dya sūta saṃtapye 'haṃ putrapautraiś ca hīnaḥ saṃcintayann adya vihīnabuddhiḥ kartavyatāṃ nābhijānāmi sūta
