विद्वद्भिः कथ्यते लोके पुराणैः कविसत्तमैः सर्वर्द्धिगुणसंपन्नास् ते चापि निधनं गताः
vidvadbhiḥ kathyate loke purāṇaiḥ kavisattamaiḥ sarvarddhiguṇasaṃpannās te cāpi nidhanaṃ gatāḥ
“Sanjaya says that these princes, though endued with every noble virtue and their deeds published by sacred bards, yielded up their lives; for Dhritarashtra's own sons were malevolent, inflamed with passion and avaricious, and of very evil disposition, so he should not grieve for them.
