ह्रदानाम् उदधिः श्रेष्ठो गौर् वरिष्ठा चतुष्पदाम् यथैतानि वरिष्ठानि तथा भारतम् उच्यते
hradānām udadhiḥ śreṣṭho gaur variṣṭhā catuṣpadām yathaitāni variṣṭhāni tathā bhāratam ucyate
“The man of faith, devoted to piety and constant in virtue, on reading this section is freed from sin; the believer who constantly hears this section called the Introduction falls not into difficulties; it is the body of the Bharata, truth and nectar, and as butter is in curd and the cow among quadrupeds, so is the Bharata among histories. (trans. K.M. Ganguli)”
