मङ्गल्यं मङ्गलं विष्णुं वरेण्यम् अनघं शुचिम् नमस्कृत्य हृषीकेशं चराचरगुरुं हरिम्
maṅgalyaṃ maṅgalaṃ viṣṇuṃ vareṇyam anaghaṃ śucim namaskṛtya hṛṣīkeśaṃ carācaraguruṃ harim
“Sauti bowed to the primordial Isana, the incorruptible Brahma, Vishnu and Hari the ruler of all things moveable and immoveable, and declared that he would recite the sacred thoughts of the illustrious Vyasa, adding that the Narayana-story is the most fruitful of all and that there is none equal to Narayana.
