विस्तरं कुरुवंशस्य गान्धार्या धर्मशीलताम् क्षत्तुः प्रज्ञां धृतिं कुन्त्याः सम्यग् द्वैपायनो ऽब्रवीत्
vistaraṃ kuruvaṃśasya gāndhāryā dharmaśīlatām kṣattuḥ prajñāṃ dhṛtiṃ kuntyāḥ samyag dvaipāyano 'bravīt
“Being solicited by Janamejaya and thousands of Brahmanas, Vyasa instructed his disciple Vaisampayana, who recited the Bharata during the intervals of the sacrifice; Vyasa fully represented the greatness of the house of Kuru, the virtuous principles of Gandhari, the wisdom of Vidura and the constancy of Kunti, as also the divinity of Vasudeva, the rectitude of the sons of Pandu and the evil practices of the sons of Dhritarashtra.
