दुर्योधनो मन्युमयो महाद्रुमः; स्कन्धः कर्णः शकुनिस् तस्य शाखाः दुःशासनः पुष्पफले समृद्धे; मूलं राजा धृतराष्ट्रो ऽमनीषी
duryodhano manyumayo mahādrumaḥ; skandhaḥ karṇaḥ śakunis tasya śākhāḥ duḥśāsanaḥ puṣpaphale samṛddhe; mūlaṃ rājā dhṛtarāṣṭro 'manīṣī
“Duryodhana is a great tree of wrath, Karna its trunk, Sakuni its branches, Duhsasana its flowers and fruit and the unwise Dhritarashtra its root; Yudhishthira is a vast tree of religion and virtue, Arjuna its trunk, Bhimasena its branches, the two sons of Madri its full-grown fruit and flowers, and Krishna, Brahma and the Brahmanas its roots.
