तांस् तैर् निवेदितान् दृष्ट्वा पाण्डवान् कौरवास् तदा शिष्टाश् च वर्णाः पौरा ये ते हर्षाच् चुक्रुशुर् भृशम्
tāṃs tair niveditān dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍavān kauravās tadā śiṣṭāś ca varṇāḥ paurā ye te harṣāc cukruśur bhṛśam
“When the Kauravas saw them introduced as the sons of Pandu, the citizens shouted exceedingly for joy; some doubted they were his sons, but on all sides voices cried welcome, and as the acclamations ceased, invisible spirits resounded through the heavens, with showers of sweet-scented flowers and the sound of shells and kettle-drums.
